Strong Front Half Fuels Solid Marathon Finish Luke Friedman crossed the line in 3:46:12 to place 203rd overall and 171st among men in the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon, finishing inside the top 10% of the field. Friedman's opening six miles were his best of the day, covering that stretch in 45:12, an average of 7:32 per mile, and holding split paces in the 7:20s-7:40s range. From there his mile times gradually eased, dropping into the 8:00-9:00 range through mile 18 before slowing further over the closing miles, with splits between 9:42 and 11:13 from mile 19 to the finish. Running at Boulder's elevation of over 5,000 feet, Friedman's early pace stands out as the clear high point of his race, and building more of that steadiness into the back half could be a rewarding focus for next time.
