He opened cautiously with an 11:14 first mile, settled into the 9:3010:20 range through the middle of the race, then eased into the low 11:00s pace over the final miles before closing strong. The clear standout stretch came between miles 8 and 12, where Lowry covered four miles at roughly 9:32 per mile his fastest sustained running of the day. Given that Boulder sits above 5,000 feet of elevation, holding that pace through the heart of the course reflects well-managed effort and even fitness across the marathon distance.
