Strong Start Fades to a Resilient Finish Mariah Law crossed the Pearl Street Mall finish line in 4:24:31 for the marathon, finishing 176th among women. Her opening miles were the highlight of the day: through the first five miles she averaged roughly 8:08 per mile, holding that rhythm out to mile 15 before the pace began to loosen. The final ten miles told a different story, drifting from the 9-minute range into the 13-15 minute range as fatigue set in, closing out at 10:05 per mile overall. Running the 2026 edition of Boulderthon, Law tackled a marathon course reshaped to trim net elevation gain by about 40 percent, down to 603 feet useful context at Boulder's mile-high altitude. Her slowdown coincided with the stretch near the lululemon Power-Up Zone around mile 22.5, a common spot for the effort of the day to show. Her early miles suggest real fitness; working on sustaining that opening rhythm deeper into the race could be a worthwhile focus next time out.
