Strong Closing Miles Cap a Steady Marathon Effort Roman Scharbo, 21, of Studio City, CA, finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 5:44:44. After an opening mile at 15:24, he settled into a strong middle stretch, holding paces between 11:07 and 12:24 through miles 37. The race's cumulative pace hovered in the 12:3013:00 range for much of the middle miles before dipping late, with his fastest mile of the day coming at mile 26, clocked at a 9:44 pace a strong finish into downtown Boulder. Passing near the lululemon Power-Up Zone around mile 22.5, Roman's pace tightened noticeably in the miles that followed, dropping to 11:23 and then 10:43 by mile 24. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, that late surge stands out as a highlight of his race, closing strong on the historic Pearl Street Mall.
