Even Early Pace Gives Way to a Tougher Final 10K Philippa Oliveri finished the marathon in 4:08:15, an average pace of 9:28 per mile. Her race split cleanly in two: through 18 miles she held a tight band between 8:33 and 9:21 per mile, keeping her cumulative pace locked near 9:00 the entire way. From mile 19 onward, per-mile splits eased into the 9:5010:53 range, nudging her overall pace up to that 9:28 finish figure. Mile 11, covered in 8:33, stood out as her fastest full mile of the day, part of a strong middle stretch that carried her efficiently toward the race's second half. She would have passed through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5 during her final miles before closing out on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a finish shared by every distance in the event, at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
