Steady Pacing Carries Marathon Debut to a Strong Finish Jordan Merritts completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:36:54, an average pace of 10:34 per mile. His race stayed remarkably even across the distance, with mile splits mostly holding between 10:00 and 10:45 despite the elevation. A brief dip near mile 16 (13:05) was the lone outlier before he settled back into rhythm, running his fastest full mile from 10 to 11 in 9:25. Racing through downtown Boulder at over 5,000 feet of elevation, Merritts held pace through the late miles near the lululemon Power-Up Zone around mile 22.5, clocking 10:56 and 10:52 in that stretch before closing out with a 11:06 final mile into the Pearl Street Mall. The consistency across the back half, particularly from mile 17 onward, reflects strong pacing discipline for the closing miles of a marathon.
