Strong Front Half Fuels Steady Marathon Finish Jack Brehmer completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:02:47, holding a consistent 8:30-8:55 min/mile pace through the first 21 miles. His strongest stretch came between miles 9 and 13, where he clicked off four straight miles between 7:39 and 8:35, his fastest sustained running of the day. The closing miles brought a gradual fade, with pace settling into the 9:00-11:10 min/mile range from mile 21 to the finish. Brehmer's race unfolded at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, a notable backdrop for a marathon effort. The course carried him out past Boulder Reservoir and through Boulder County backroads before delivering him to the finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting close to a well-paced first two-thirds of the race.
