Steady Pace Through Halfway Powers a Personal Best Jason Bowman finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:52:45, placing 280th overall and 225th among men in a field of 3,305. That marks an improvement over his 2024 Boulderthon finish of 3:55:32, shaving nearly three minutes off his time. Bowman's race unfolded in two distinct halves: through mile 18 he held a tight band between 8:11 and 8:39 per mile, cresting at an elapsed pace near 8:18-8:19 for much of the race's first two-thirds. His strongest stretch came early, miles 1 through 9, where he averaged 8:19 per mile with minimal variation. The closing miles told a different story, as pace slipped from 9:02 at mile 19 to 12:05 at mile 24 before firming up over the final two miles. Racing at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, that late fade came after a well-managed effort through the bulk of the course.
