Strong Front Half Fuels a Podium Finish Meg Dopp finished the marathon in 4:01:14, taking 2nd in the F45-49 division. She ran the first 15 miles remarkably even, holding between 7:37 and 8:20 per mile through the halfway point, reaching 15 miles in 2:01:55. That opening stretch was the fastest sustained running of her race, holding sub-8:10 pace for 15 consecutive miles. The back half told a different story as her per-mile splits eased into the 9-12 minute range from mile 16 onward, with the closing miles settling near 11:30 pace. Boulder sits above 5,000 feet, a backdrop for any marathon effort in town. The course wound its way to a finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall, a fitting stage for a runner who banked enough time in the first half to secure a podium spot in her division despite the late fade.
