Steady Pacing Powers a Strong Marathon Finish Samantha Symsack completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:58:24, averaging 9:05 per mile across the 26.2-mile course. Her opening miles held close to that same rhythm, settling near 9:10 per mile through the first half before tightening steadily over the back half. She closed with a strong final mile, finishing with control and consistency from start to line. Her sharpest stretch came between miles 14 and 18, where she averaged roughly 8:49 per mile her fastest sustained running of the day before a natural settling pace through the mid-twenties. Racing at Boulders elevation of over 5,000 feet, and on the 2026 courses redesigned marathon route, which cut net elevation gain by about 40 percent, Symsack showed strong endurance and pacing discipline across the full distance.
