Strong Start Fades Into a Grinding Finish Alexander Bordner completed the Boulder Marathon in 5:54:26, an overall pace of 13:31 per mile. He opened fast, covering the first six miles in 52:03 an 8:40 per-mile pace before settling into a steadier middle third and easing further over the closing miles, with his final mile the slowest of the day. Boulder's marathon course sits above 5,000 feet, and after 2026's redesign carries roughly 603 feet of net elevation gain, down from 982. Bordner passed the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5 with his elapsed time near 4:33, part of a stretch where his mile splits lengthened before he found a bit more rhythm to close things out on the Pearl Street Mall.
