Steady Through 18, Grinding Through the Final Miles Ricky Hurtado finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:15:30. He built a strong rhythm over the first 18 miles, holding an elapsed pace between 8:22 and 8:36 per mile, with his fastest mile coming at mile 11 in 7:45. That consistency gave way to a tougher final stretch, as per-mile splits climbed into the 10- to 14-minute range from mile 19 onward, pushing his overall elapsed pace to 9:44 by the finish. The marathon course winds out past Boulder Reservoir and along Boulder County backroads before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall, all at over 5,000 feet of elevation. Hurtado's slower stretch through the mid-20s carried him past the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, a notable landmark on the way to that Pearl Street finish.
