Strong Early Pace Fades Late but Finishes Steady Ben Scott completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:55:35, an 8:59 min/mile average pace across the 26.2-mile course. He built his race on a fast opening, clicking off his first mile in 7:58 and holding between 7:41 and 8:18 per mile through mile 16, keeping his cumulative pace locked near 8:02 for that entire stretch. The back half told a different story, as his per-mile splits climbed steadily from 9:18 at mile 17 to a peak of 12:45 at mile 23 before settling back near 10-11 minutes over the final miles. That mile 23 stretch came shortly after passing the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, and his closing 10:13 mile brought him home on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a finish set at over 5,000 feet of elevation.
