Strong Front Half Carries Steady Marathon Finish Zachary Dawson finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:29:12, placing 98th overall and 88th among men in a field of 3,305. He moved efficiently through the first half, reaching 13 miles in 1:36:19, and hit his fastest mile of the race at mile 11 in 6:42. Pace held in the 7:20s-7:40s through mile 18 before easing over the closing miles, with mile 24 the slowest stretch at 10:15, then tightening again to 8:26 for the final mile into the Pearl Street Mall finish. The marathon course, run at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, carries a net elevation gain of 603 feet under its 2026 redesign. Dawson's early pacing through the rolling middle miles, particularly the sub-7:00 mile 11, reflects strong control before the demands of the back half set in.
