Steady Early Pace Gives Way to a Tough Final 10K Justin Farber finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:17:24. He moved efficiently through the first two-thirds of the race, holding sub-9:00 pace through mile 18 and reaching the 20-mile mark with a cumulative pace of 9:04 per mile. The closing miles told a different story, as his per-mile splits stretched past 11:00 and eventually into the 13:00s over the final 5K, pushing his overall pace to 9:49 by the finish. Farber's sharpest stretch came early, covering the first eight miles in 1:10:55, an 8:52 per-mile pace that set up his overall run. That opening effort came at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, a factor worth noting given the pace he sustained through the race's first half.
