Even Early Miles Give Way to a Hard-Fought Finish Elizabeth Boelke completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:20:39, an overall pace of 9:56 per mile. Her race unfolded in two distinct halves. Through the first 10 miles, Boelke ran a tightly controlled stretch, holding between 8:34 and 8:48 per mile and covering that opening 10K-plus in well under 1:30 the most consistent running of her day. From there, mile splits gradually loosened into the mid-9:00s through the middle miles before the effort caught up with her over the final 10K, where paces climbed into the 11- and 12-minute range, including a 13:26 for mile 23. Running the closing miles at altitude Boulder sits above 5,000 feet she steadied again over the last three miles, closing in the 10:5411:45 range before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall.
