Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Federico Rodriguez Garcia #13192 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Strong Opening Miles Fuel a Steady Marathon Finish Federico Rodriguez Garcia completed the marathon in 4:06:42, finishing 471st overall out of the field of 3,305 at 2026 Boulderthon. His race showed a clear shape: a fast, controlled opening through mile 11 at roughly 8:03 per mile, a gradual easing through the mid-teens, and a tougher final 10K where pace settled into the 11-to-13-minute range before rallying to 9:52 for the last mile. The standout stretch was that opening 11 miles, run efficiently and evenly at high altitude Boulder sits above 5,000 feet before the demands of the back half took hold. That closing kick in the final mile suggests strong finishing composure, and building more strength for the back stretch could help even out the pacing curve in a future race on this course, which finishes on the historic Pearl Street Mall.
