Steady Pacing and a Strong Closing Kick Power a Top-3% Finish Miguel Arias-Paic crossed the line in 3:27:28, placing 90th overall and 80th among men in the field of 3,305, with a second-place finish in the men's 50-54 division. His race unfolded as a study in control: after opening near 8:00 per mile through the first ten miles, he held that rhythm through the middle miles before accelerating over the closing stretch. Miles 23 through 26 were his fastest of the day, averaging roughly 7:41 per mile, a clear sign of well-managed effort across 26.2 miles. That final surge carried him through the closing miles of the course and onto the Pearl Street Mall finish in downtown Boulder, a fitting capstone given the city's elevation above 5,000 feet. Given how well the closing miles were executed, a slightly more even effort through the middle third could be worth exploring in future training blocks.
