Strong Pacing Carries Marathon Debut Inside the Top 6 Percent Evan Ponce crossed the line in 3:43:38, good for 181st overall and 155th among men in a field of 3,305 at the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon. He built steadily through the first half, dipping to a 7:32 mile at mile 11 - his fastest of the race - before settling into the low 8:20s through the middle miles. The back half cost him a bit of rhythm, with splits drifting into the 9:00-9:17 range from miles 19 through 25, right around where the course passes the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5. He closed with an 8:26 final mile, pulling his overall pace back to 8:32 min/mile at the finish. Given that stretch sits at altitude above 5,000 feet, the late fade is a reasonable target for a touch more even pacing next time.
