Steady Pace Holds Firm Through the Back Half Aaron Nichol finished the half marathon in 1:50:46, an 8:27 min/mile pace, out of a field of 7,223 in the 2026 Boulderthon. Nichol's pace stayed remarkably consistent, hovering between 8:18 and 8:36 per mile through the first ten miles. His fastest mile came at mile 5, a 7:43 split, marking the high point of an even effort. A slight dip followed between miles 8 and 11, with splits climbing toward 8:50, before he closed strong with an 8:09 final mile. That finishing kick, run at altitude above 5,000 feet, capped a well-paced race with minimal fade over the closing miles. Nichol passed near the lululemon Power-Up Zone around mile 9.5, a stretch he handled in stride before rallying for a strong finish into downtown Boulder.
