Strong Front Half Fuels Top-Placing Marathon Patrick Gorman finished the marathon in 3:17:14, placing 45th overall and 39th among men out of the field, and closing 3rd in the men's 25-29 division. His pace held in the 6:46-7:23 range through the first 11 miles, keeping him well inside the top 60 overall at each early checkpoint, before settling into a steady 7:07-7:49 rhythm through the middle miles. The opening 11 miles stood out as his strongest stretch, averaging 7:03 per mile and establishing the pace bank that carried his overall time. The final 5K slowed to the 8:19-8:41 range as the effort of Boulder's altitude over 5,000 feet showed up late, but the early pace cushion held firm to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall.
