Strong Front Half Gives Way to a Grinding Final 10K Jonathan Zerna finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:54:33, an 8:57 min/mile average pace across 26.2 miles. Zerna ran the first 19 miles with remarkable consistency, holding between 7:51 and 8:26 per mile and reaching the halfway point in roughly 1:44. That steady effort carried him through mile 17 at a cumulative 7:59 pace, his most efficient long stretch of the day. The final 10K told a different story: pace slipped past 9:00 by mile 20 and climbed steadily into the 10:00-14:00 range through miles 22-24 before settling in for the closing miles. That effort brought him onto the Pearl Street Mall to finish, the same downtown stretch every Boulderthon distance shares at the line.
