Strong Middle Miles Power a Steady Marathon Finish Griffin crossed the line in 4:23:22, finishing 731st overall out of the field of 3,305 and 559th among men. His race built steadily: after opening near 10:14 pace, he settled into the 9:40-10:00 range through the middle miles before finding his best rhythm from miles 17 to 18, covering that stretch at roughly 8:33 per mile his fastest sustained running of the day. The closing miles slowed into the 11:00-12:00 range before he brought it home. Boulder's elevation, over a mile high, adds context to any marathon effort here, and Griffin's late-race stretch passed through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, a notable marker on the course's final push toward the Pearl Street Mall finish downtown.
