Strong Early Pace Carries Through a Tough Back Half Jp Caudill finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:28:31, moving up from his 2:13:49 half marathon finish at the same event in 2023. He opened briskly, banking sub-8:30 miles through the first ten miles and staying near 9:00 pace through the halfway point in 1:51:48. The second half brought a steady fade, with mile splits climbing into the 1113 minute range over the closing ten miles before he crossed the finish. His strongest running came early, with miles four and five clocked at 8:07 and 8:06, the fastest full-mile stretch of his race. That surge carried him through downtown Boulder's outer roads before the course turned back toward the Pearl Street Mall finish, all run at Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet.
