Strong Front Half Fades Down the Stretch Andrew Heekin finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:12:58, an average pace of 9:39 per mile. This was slower than his 2024 Boulderthon Marathon, where he ran 3:58:30 at a 9:06 pace. Heekin's race unfolded in two distinct phases. Through the first 17 miles, he ran a consistent, controlled pace, holding between 7:45 and 8:56 per mile and settling into a rhythm that kept his cumulative pace in the low 8:20s. That stretch stands as the strongest part of his day. From mile 18 onward, the pace slowed steadily, with miles 19 through 25 each landing between 10:43 and 14:19, pushing his overall average up through the finish. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, the early pace was a solid foundation; going forward, Heekin might look at ways to better distribute effort over the final 10K to preserve more of that early rhythm.
