Strong Early Pace Carries Steady Marathon Finish Brian Breitsch finished the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 3:39:20, an average pace of 8:22 per mile. His first 10 miles clicked by at roughly 7:40 pace, and he held sub-8:00 pace through mile 18 before the back stretch slowed gradually, settling near 9:3010:00 pace over the closing miles. Miles 1 through 10 stood out as his strongest stretch, averaging about 7:42 per mile with tight, consistent splits. The marathon's route heads out past Boulder Reservoir and along county backroads before returning to finish on the Pearl Street Mall, and Brian's pace through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5 held near 8:15 for the race to that point, a solid mark given Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet.
