Steady Middle Miles Power a Strong Marathon Finish Wyatt Horan completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:18:25, averaging 9:51 per mile across the 26.2-mile course through Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet of elevation. After an opening three miles in the 10:4412:19 range, he settled into a rhythm, holding between 8:50 and 9:22 per mile from mile 11 through mile 18 the most consistent one-mile-plus stretch of his race. That patch pulled his cumulative pace down to its fastest point, near 8:51 per mile, before the closing miles eased back toward 9:51 as the effort wore on. He passed through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5 as his pace settled into the 13-minute range for a few miles, then picked back up over the final mile before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
