His race unfolded in a consistent rhythm: the opening mile came in at 10:02, and through the first ten miles his cumulative pace held tightly between 10:13 and 10:38 despite Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet. His standout stretch came at mile 11, clocked in 8:59, his fastest full mile of the day. From there his cumulative pace stayed in the low 10:20s through mile 20 before gradually easing to 10:40 by the finish, with the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5 arriving as his mile splits settled into the 10:30-11:50 range for the stretch home into the Pearl Street Mall.
