Fast Start Fuels Top-10 Finish at Altitude Christian Arguello crossed the line in 2:58:28, placing 8th overall and 8th among men out of a field of 3,305. He opened with a blistering 4:59 first mile, then settled into a strong rhythm, holding sub-6:00 pace through mile 11. From there, per-mile splits gradually eased into the 6:20-6:55 range through mile 18 before a tougher stretch from miles 19-24, where pace slipped into the 8:00s. He closed strong, dropping back to 7:04 and 7:07 for the final two miles to secure the finish. The opening 11 miles stood out as the fastest sustained stretch of the race, averaging just under 6:00 per mile. Late in the race, Arguello passed through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 22.5, a stretch he pushed through before rallying over the final two miles - a solid result given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet.
