Even Effort Yields a Strong Closing Kick Madison Christensen, 32, of Phoenix, AZ, completed the Boulderthon Marathon in 4:15:50, averaging 9:45 per mile. She opened briskly with a 9:05 first mile before settling into a steady rhythm, holding between 9:29 and 9:47 per mile through the middle of the course. That consistency carried her through the back half with little variation despite Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet.
