Strong Middle Miles Power a Solid Marathon Finish Daniel Zwissler completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:12:13, averaging 9:37 per mile across the 26.2-mile course. He opened steadily near 9:20-9:30 pace through the first ten miles, then found his rhythm, running miles 10 through 13 in a combined 25:23 an 8:27 average, the fastest mile-plus stretch of his race. After that surge, pace eased over the closing miles, settling into the 10:00-11:30 range through miles 18-24 before a modest rally to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Zwissler's race unfolded at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, a notable backdrop for sustaining that mid-race pace.
