Steady Early Pace Anchors a Determined Marathon Finish Eleen Korir completed the 2026 Boulderthon Marathon in 4:19:04. Her opening 10 miles were remarkably even, holding between 8:09 and 8:59 per mile and settling into an 8:36 cumulative pace by the 10-mile mark. From there, the effort gradually eased, with per-mile splits climbing into the 9- and 10-minute range through miles 1118, then further into the 11-to-14-minute range over the closing 10K as fatigue set in. Her strongest stretch came in that first 10 miles, run at a consistent sub-8:40 clip a strong foundation for the race. Racing at over 5,000 feet of elevation, Korir tackled a 2026 marathon course redesigned to trim net elevation gain to roughly 603 feet, before closing out on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder.
