Fast Start, Late-Race Rally Al Tarnowicz completed the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:50:08, off his 1:45:12 from the same event the previous year. He opened strong, holding between 8:01 and 8:13 pace through the first five miles, before the middle stretch slowed, bottoming out at a race-worst 9:13 for mile eight. He answered with a solid closing kick, running 8:10 and 8:03 over miles twelve and thirteen to finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Racing through Boulder's altitude, over 5,000 feet, adds extra weight to every mile covered.
