Strong Start Fuels a Top 2% Finish Aashaun Khedaru crossed the line in 1:28:09, placing 111th overall and 98th among men in a field of 7,223. He opened with his fastest mile of the race, 6:17, and held sub-6:25 pace through mile six before a stretch of tougher miles seven through nine pushed his splits toward 7:087:20. He steadied over the final four miles, closing in 6:446:47 pace to finish at a 6:43 min/mile average. The half marathon route runs out past Boulder Reservoir before finishing on the Pearl Street Mall, all at over 5,000 feet of elevation. His softer middle miles lined up near the lululemon Power-Up Zone around mile 9.5, and given his strong final surge, a touch more evenness through that stretch could sharpen the overall pace next time.
