Steady Pacing Fuels a Strong Closing Kick Spyridon Mastroyannis finished the half marathon in 1:52:54, a bit slower than his 1:48:16 finish at the same race last year, with his overall pace easing from 8:15 to 8:37 per mile. His pacing held steady through the middle miles, dipping only briefly near miles 5-6, before he closed with his fastest mile-plus stretch of the race, covering miles 12-13 at roughly 8:10 per mile. That closing surge came on a 2026 half-marathon course built with nearly 50 percent less elevation gain than in past years, making the strong finish stand out even more.
