Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Cat Diehl #31208 Race: 2026 Boulderthon 10K Distance: 6.2 miles

Steady Early Pace Gives Way to a Tougher Back Half Cat Diehl covered the 10K in 1:00:37, opening with her quickest mile of the day at 9:03 and holding a cumulative pace under 9:35 per mile through the midpoint. The final two miles cost her the most time, with a 10:01 split at mile 4 and a 10:55 close, nudging her overall pace to 9:47 per mile by the finish. The 10K field set off at 8:10 AM, and Diehl's run ended where every Boulderthon distance does on the Pearl Street Mall, a fitting close after ranging through downtown Boulder at over 5,000 feet of elevation. That opening mile stands as the highlight of her race, a pace she wasn't quite able to sustain as the miles accumulated. A touch more evenly paced effort in the closing miles could bring her overall time down further next time out.
