Strong Finishing Kick Seals a Faster Half Halle Metcalf crossed the 2026 Boulderthon half marathon in 1:40:00, trimming 1:18 off her 2025 finish of 1:41:18 on the same course. Her early miles settled into the 7:40s as the field spread out, holding a steady 7:44-7:46 elapsed pace through the middle miles before the pace began tightening from mile 10 onward. The closing stretch stood out: after holding in the 7:30s-7:40s for most of the race, Metcalf dropped a 7:14 mile 12 and a 6:54 mile 13, her fastest mile of the day, to close strong into downtown Boulder. That finishing surge, run at over 5,000 feet of elevation, helped secure her improved time over last year's result.
