Strong Start Fuels a Top-Tier Half Finish Evan Goodman crossed the line in 1:31:15, good for 150th overall and 126th among men out of the field of 7,223 in the half marathon. His even pacing through the middle miles set up a result that placed him firmly among the race's fastest finishers. The opening six miles were his strongest stretch, holding between 6:38 and 6:50 per mile and settling his cumulative pace at 6:42 min/mile by mile six. A rougher patch followed from miles 7 through 10, with splits climbing to 7:29, before he steadied again over the closing miles, finishing strong with a 7:06 mile 13. Given Boulder's elevation above 5,000 feet, that kind of composure through the second half is worth noting. Locking in that early rhythm for longer could be one avenue to explore next time.
