Fast Start, Faster Finish: Late Miles Power a Strong Half Caroline Dane finished the 2026 Boulderthon half marathon in 1:42:22 (7:48/mile), placing 440th overall and 91st among women in a field of 7,223. That's off her 1:36:17 from 2025 and her 1:40:24 from 2023, marking her slowest of the three Boulderthon halves on record. She opened briskly, clicking off her first two miles at 7:35 pace, then eased through the middle miles, hitting her slowest split, 8:10, around mile seven. From there she rebuilt steadily, and her final three milesaveraging 7:41 pacewere her strongest sustained stretch of the race, carrying her through the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5 and on to the finish on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a city that sits above 5,000 feet of elevation.
