Strong Early Pace Fuels Top-30 Finish Adam Cook, 27, of Boulder, finished the Half Marathon in 1:17:28, placing 28th overall and 25th among men out of the field, with an 8th-place finish in the M25-29 division. His pacing showed a strong front half, a mid-race dip, then a solid rebound to the line. Cook's opening six miles were his best stretch, covering that distance in 34:42 for a 5:47/mile average. Miles 7 through 9 slowed to the 6:04-6:25 range before he settled back into 5:46-5:50 pace for the final four miles, closing at 5:55/mile overall. That finish came on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a city sitting over 5,000 feet above sea level.
