Strong Start Fades Into a Steady Finish Gavin Mcdermott completed the half marathon in 1:52:00, just seconds off his 2023 time (1:52:17) and inside his 2024 result (1:53:37), though a bit behind his 2025 best of 1:50:42. His cumulative pace stayed remarkably tight, sitting between 8:07 and 8:33 per mile for the entire race, with a late-race stretch bringing him back toward his early rhythm after a mid-race dip. His strongest sustained running came in the first four miles, covered at an 8:11 min/mile pace, including a 7:54 second mile. Miles six through eight softened to the 8:409:14 range before he settled back in. The 2026 half course trimmed net elevation gain to 203 feet, and Gavin closed his race on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, a fitting finish given his consistent effort throughout.
