Fastest Half Marathon Yet, Capped by a Strong Closing Kick Joel Love ran 1:52:34, his quickest half marathon at this event, improving on 1:53:38 in 2023 and 1:57:44 in 2024. His early miles settled near 8:55 per mile before he found a rhythm through the middle miles, dipping into the 8:20s by mile 5. He held that pace through mile 11, then surged over the final two miles, covering that stretch at roughly 8:03 per mile to close out the race. That late push carried him past the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, right around where his pace began tightening toward the finish. Racing at altitude in Boulder, sitting above 5,000 feet, his steady pacing through the back half reflects well-managed effort across the full 13.1 miles.
