Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Theodore Love #25838 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Steady Splits Deliver a Personal Best Theodore Love finished the 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon in 1:52:38, good for second in the Male 14 & Under division. That time improves on his 1:54:11 from 2025 and his 1:56:48 from 2024, marking his fastest half marathon at this event yet. His pacing was remarkably even through the middle miles, holding between 8:31 and 8:47 per mile from mile 3 through mile 11. The strongest stretch came late: miles 11 through 13 dropped to a 8:17 average pace, with mile 12 alone clocking 8:04, his fastest mile of the race. That closing kick, run at altitude in Boulder, sitting above 5,000 feet, helped him negative-split the back half of the course. If there's an area to explore next time, it might be starting that surge a mile or two earlier.
