Strong Middle Mile Powers a Solid 5K Finish Jonathan Ramos completed the 5K in 25:25, an 8:11 per-mile pace, finishing 194th among men. His race built momentum through the middle of the course: after an opening mile of 8:03, Ramos surged to a 6:58 second mile his fastest of the race before easing to 9:35 over the closing stretch. That middle-mile push, at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, stands out as the highlight of his effort. Holding that early speed a bit longer into the final mile could be worth targeting next time out.
