Strong Opening Mile Sets the Tone Before a Gradual Fade Dami Sin completed the Half Marathon at the 2026 Boulderthon in 3:43:37. Her race opened with the fastest mile of the day, an 11:57 clip through the first mile, before pace settled into a steady, mile-by-mile decline. By mile 7 she'd slipped to a 16:47 pace, and the slide continued through mile 11, where cumulative pace bottomed out at 22:30 min/mile the race's toughest stretch. The final two miles showed a rally, with pace tightening back to 19:39-19:45, a solid close given the trend beforehand. Sin's effort carried her from downtown Boulder, sitting over 5,000 feet of elevation, to the traditional finish on the Pearl Street Mall. Tightening the middle miles, roughly 7 through 10, could help smooth out the pacing curve in a future half.
