Strong Closing Miles Power a Top-10% Finish Taylor Martin crossed the half marathon line in 1:48:29, placing 690th overall and 180th among women in a field of 7,223 a result inside the top 10 percent of the field. Her pace held steady through the middle miles, easing from an 8:46 opening mile to the mid-8:20s by mile six, before tightening further as the race progressed. The final two miles stood out, with mile 12 clocked at 7:20 her fastest of the race as she pulled away from the 8:20s pace that defined the middle stretch. That closing surge carried her onto the Pearl Street Mall finish, a fitting cap on a course that, at more than 5,000 feet of elevation, tested every runner regardless of pace.
