That mark essentially matched his 2024 Boulderthon time of 1:31:24 and improved on his 2023 result of 1:32:53, showing remarkable year-over-year consistency at this distance. Stafford's pacing stayed tight through the middle miles, settling in the high 6:50s to low 7:00s per mile. His strongest stretch came late, covering miles 12 and 13 in 6:47 and 6:30, closing faster than any other point in the race. That finish came on a 2026 half marathon course with net elevation gain cut nearly 50 percent, and at Boulder's altitude above 5,000 feet, a smooth negative-split close like this is a real technical accomplishment.
