Early Speed Gives Way to a Strong Closing Kick Lupo Solazzo covered this year's half marathon in 1:51:18, compared with 1:40:40 in 2025, a difference of roughly 10:38 across the same distance. The pacing shape reflected a fast start that gradually eased: his opening mile came in at 7:34, and by mile 8 his per-mile split had drifted to 9:19, the slowest stretch of the race. From there he steadied, holding mid-8:00s to low-9:00s pace through the remaining miles. The standout stretch came late mile 12, clocked at 8:20, marked his fastest mile since the race's early going and showed a clear rebound after the mid-race dip. That finishing push, closing with an 8:25 mile 13, capped a race run at altitude in Boulder, sitting over 5,000 feet above sea level.
