Date: Sept. 27, 2026 Participant: Brady Schmelling #21634 Race: 2026 Boulderthon Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Steady Miles Give Way to a Fast Closing Kick Schmelling crossed the half marathon finish line in 1:44:59, an 8:00-per-mile pace that placed him 539th overall and 411th among men in a field of 7,223. He opened at 8:06, then held a tight band between 7:53 and 8:07 through mile 10 a stretch that included the lululemon Power-Up Zone near mile 9.5, where his pace stayed brisk at 7:53. Mile 11 slowed to 8:45, but he rebounded with a 7:38 closing mile, his fastest of the day, finishing on the historic Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, which sits above 5,000 feet in elevation. If he can smooth that mid-race dip, an even faster time is within reach.
