Steady Pace, Strong Finish in the Top 3% Overall Kyle Hoehnen ran the half marathon in 1:33:46, finishing 198th overall and 163rd among men in a field of 7,223. His cumulative pace tightened steadily across the race, opening near 7:46 per mile and settling into the low 7:10s by the second half, showing strong control over the back stretch. His strongest mile-plus stretch came late: after a mile 11 split of 7:25, he surged with a 6:43 mile 12 and closed with a 6:51 final mile, his fastest sustained running of the race in its final miles. That closing kick, run at Boulder's altitude of over 5,000 feet, capped a well-paced effort with negative-split tendencies through the second half of the course.
